Growing Old

The sunset years come round so fast
Days of youth so quickly passed.
Family grown up and all left home.
Old friends long since passed away.
Life gets harder every day.
The hardest part is being on your own.

We've been around, we've paid our dues.
Still have our moments, one or two.
Tho life is tough, we still have time for fun.
We know we've still a part to play,
In the busy lifestyle of today.
There's a role to play in life for everyone.

Although we're old, we're not forgotten,
With friends and neighbors, all with hearts of gold.
Tired, old and weary, we may be.
We have lost our youth, but not our heart and soul.

Now the pace of life moves on so fast,

And we can't stay living in the past.
For progress will not stop for you and me,
So we're thankful for the life we've lived.
But there's more to do and more to give.
For there's others who have less in life than we.

Our eyes have seen so many things-
The joys and sorrows that life brings.
We've known the days of sun and the days of rain.
But one thing that I know is true,
If we had it all to do
We'd live our lives again, the very same.

Although we're old, we're not forgotten.
With friends and neighbors all with hearts of gold..
Tired, old and feeble we may be -

We have lost our youth, but not our heart and soul,
We are young at heart, although we're growing old.
